Beauty as a tourist

I love and appreciate all the writings out at the moment, about bringing charm and wonder to the places we live & yes, sometimes we take it for granted. It reminds us we can be tourists in our own city, state. One of my favourite things, is to take myself into Sydney city. Sometimes myself and other days with family and or friends. Always taking a camera, in one form or another as I just know I WILL see beauty & want to capture it.
There’s so much to see in a city. Its my favourite place to be in a new country. I think my younger days of reading Richard Scarry’s What Do People Do All Day, had a huge impact on me. That kind of activity for me is so energising, so exciting to see it all. I did Meals on Wheels when the kids were little, and really, I just loved seeing inside peoples homes, to SEE how they live is a thrill for me.
Speaking of cities, we just got back from visiting 4 cities in Europe and it was just the best. One of the things I love to do, which luckily my husband does too, is to sit in a cafe with a coffee or wine (depending on the hour) or both, and watch all the people. We did this a lot, it never gets old. We love Cafes, Wine Bars, Restaurants, Art Galleries (mostly me) and Churches (again mostly me). And while I’m visiting those, I love to dress up. If I’m visiting a beautiful place I want to do the location justice and level up through what I’m wearing. I feel like I want to me it where its at.
Imagine you are sitting before a beautiful painting, a dazzling piazza, a centuries old fountain, an ancient Church Altar. And imagine the infinity symbol ᨖ, you see the flow. As the art flows to you, you receive it. And in turn the energy of you flows out and is received by others.
Which leads me to the quest: could you too be a beautiful work of art? You are in the world, you are a part of your world, and how you choose to dress or present yourself matters. I see you and you see me ᨖ
With your beautiful eyes you take in the world; you see art, flowers, piazzas, great works of art in galleries, beautiful cities. I ask you this: do you dress for what you are going to see?
(below is a picture of Venetian slippers, perfectly designed by locals to walk the alleys and piazzas of Venice. I bought two pairs, one from this shop for 35 Euros. Some days I walked 15,000 steps and these were the most comfortable shoes I wore. They are made by local crafts people, they have history, and it doesnt need to be expensive to look beautiful).
