Velvet slippers as a tonic
I was lying on the edge of the couch to get this shot, all respect to this gorgeous reading room.
Zero no no’s happened during the filming of this shot.
Wearing nice clothes, shoes, pairing them with a cute bag is a tonic.
What we wear affects how we feel. Think for a moment and think about how a great outfit makes you feel good, then the magic happens.
You feel great, your body feels relaxed, your mind is at ease then you make good choices. Dont believe me? Think about when you last wore something that was itchy, too tight, too short, the wrong size, the worst colour (for you), and think about what kind of company you are feeling like that?
When you feel good you often make great choices. Revlon had a slogan ‘Look Good, Feel Better’ for a reason. This was the banner for the team that headed up support for women suffering from cancer treatment, they knew that if women going through Chemotherapy had an opportunity to look better (there was a team of Makeup Artists) they would feel better. There is magic in the perfect shade of coral lipstick and a cute scarf.
Speaking of scarves, we’ve come home from a holiday and what a huge dose of inspiration it was.
The men’s fashion choices in London alone were enough to send us into a euphoric upward spiral. From London we went to Venice and stayed just outside of San Marco Square in San Marco. It was a cruisy 20 min walk to the square and just about 20 min walk to all the great spots. We did on average 15,000 steps a day. I love looking to the locals, what are they wearing to get about in the town or city you are visiting? What hats do the men wear? Where do the local go for dinner? What shoes do the women wear?
In Venice many of the locals wear the traditional Venetian Slippers that the Gondoliers used to wear. You can buy a pair from 35 Euros to 150 and more. They’re designed for comfort and cuteness. They can handle the heat and the endless cobblestone alleys, the glorious bridges, and the thousands of steps that you will take finding and loosing yourself over and over on the way to San Marco Square.
Let’s step out in style.
